This design was inspired by one of the famous Torslunda helmet plates found in Öland, Sweden. It is suggested that the man with two spears is a representation of Óðinn and an Úlfhéðnar. Úlfhéðnar fought for the glory of Óðinn and were considered his elite warriors. They wore the pelts of wolves and were said to be inhabited by the spirit of wolves.
Úlfhéðnar are also capable of performing feats far beyond the abilities of other warriors. In Norse Mythology the einherjar (pronounced “ane-HAIR-yar) are the elite warriors who have died in battle and are brought to Valhöll or "hall of the slain".
